Places of Interest for kids in North India

Planning a trip to North India with kids, winters time is the best bet to enjoy the trip. The best places you surely would not like to miss if you are a first time traveller includes, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur/Udaipur. These places offer a lot of variety and sightseeing for your entire family.

Himachal Pradesh: The state is ideal for holidays in case you wish to spend your stay in or near Himalayas. There are lots of hill stations around the state which offer scenic beauty. Snow covered peaks in winters to beautiful mountains in summers; this place is an ideal place to visit if you like to stay close to Mother Nature. Places of interest shall be Shimla, Kullu, Manali and Dalhousie. These places are also ideal for mountaineering and trekking. But this shall not be possible with younger children.

Chandigarh: A small and beautiful city planned by French Architecture Le Corbusier. It is known for its clean and green environment and it is very well planned city. Places to enjoy with kids will be Rose Garden, Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake. Rose Garden is spread over 30 acres of land and is one of the biggest garden of roses. It consists of different varieties of roses. Rock garden consists of various art objects created with waste material. The objects are beautiful and attract every eye. Sukhna Lake is an artificial lake and another tourist spot at Chandigarh.

New Delhi: the capital of India has lot of places of interest for visitors. There are lots of monuments and museums to see. The place has historic significance as well as is known for its cultural diversity. One can visit famous temples in New Delhi as well enjoy Parks and amusement parks. Appu ghar is one such place to enjoy with kids. One can visit National Zoological Park of India as well as Adventure Island with kids.

Agra: World famous for Taj Mahal. People from far off places visit Agra to see this monument of love. Built by Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, Taj Mahal is made of Marble and surrounded by beautiful trees and fountain. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Jaipur and Udaipur: Jaipur is also known as the pink city as it was all colored in Pink for the visit of Prince of Whales. Jaipur has many forts and other historic buildings built by Kings ruling several hundred years ago.  A place to visit in Jaipur includes Hawa Mahal, City Palace, the Albert Hall, Jantar Mantar, Amber Palace, Jaigarh & Nahargarh Forts and Jal Mahal.

Udaipur, also known as white city because it consists of monuments and art work made of white marble. Built by royals just like Jaipur, in Udaipur one can see famous monuments, forts, parks and museum.

Mount Abu

Nekkie Lake: Pasre Nekkie Lake is a nice place to hang out in Mount Abu which is located at an altitude of approximately 3937 feet. The lake and the island is surrounded by a row of palm trees and mountains and boating in Nekkie Lake is all together a different experience.

Sunset Point: Even prettier place in Mount Abu is the Sunset Point. The Gorgeous view of sunset with the golden looking mountains, is all together a different experience. Thousands of people visit this place every evening to watch the beautiful scene of sunset.
