Triplets and the cost involved!

You’ve had triplets, you’re stressing at the amount of work that you now have to do but have you actually also factored in the cost involved? It’s not cheap to have a baby, so try multiplying that by three when it comes to having triplets! Yes from now on you will constantly have empty pockets from the amount of money you have to spend on your babies, and it’s pretty much impossible to ever see yourself in a ‘cheap’ situation, no matter how much you think you save on certain items and equipment from time to time. An example of this comes from a mother who has sent us in some details of what she had to deal with over a month. Her triplets were no different to any other triplets and this was all averaged out. A basic cost structure she worked out was:

Her triplets drank a total of 24 bottles a day, which worked out to be around one tin of formula at 800ml. A whopping amount when you consider all of that!
The babies also used 24 nappies a day, so 8 each! Imagine changing all of those a day! You thought one was bad!
At a discounted price for formula, you would be looking at around $250 a month for it. Work that out for the entire year and you are looking at a cost of $3000!
The cost for nappies for an entire month? Around $200. For the entire year? You would be looking at $2400! That’s a lot of nappies and a lot of nappy changes!

Added to that your costs involved for laundry as you would be looking at on average one load of laundry a day to wash all the babies clothes and equipment. So factor into that washing powder and you have an even higher cost!

And we haven’t even mentioned food, equipment or other services for your baby that will skyrocket your bills even further! In the long run though it will all be worth it, as you find out how joyful and great the experience is of having triplets.

There really isn’t anything else like it, and for every moment of stress and every strain on your pocket you will always find a smile on your face for having three wonderful children! And they’ll grow up one day too, remember that!
