India is also not all the far from most places on Earth, with travel time not being that long depending where you are travelling from. India is also a great place to take the family and the kids as there are so many different activities you can find that will entertain not only you but the kids as well. Here are some tips for you when travelling to India and reasons why you should choose it as your next holiday destination!

  • You should fly in to major cities such as New Delhi and Mumbai to experience what a massive Indian city has to offer. These cities are extremely unique and you will find yourself witness too many different cultures as soon as you arrive. You also have the opportunity to witness and try so many different types of food that you will be on a gastronomic adventure like you have never experienced before!
  • Once you have experienced some of these major cities you should venture out into some of the smaller cities and rural areas to get a different taste of Indian culture and the way things are run in the country. This may sound pretty simple but you would be amazed at how many people avoid places that aren’t in the major cities as they fear poverty stricken areas and that dangerous things will happen to them. Give these places a chance to really experience something very unique on your trip to India.
  • You should never be afraid to try proper Indian cuisine! You will probably have had Indian food at some point in your life when you are at home but we can assure you that it is nothing like experiencing true Indian food in the country it originates from! Imagine having some actual Indian curry from a proper Indian place when in the country with some proper Indian bread and proper Indian culture? It will certainly make your opinion of Indian food change and let us warn you know that it can be very very spicy too!
  • Always make sure you are careful when travelling in areas with large amounts of children and other people as they may try and beg their way with you constantly. It’s a sad fact that India has large amounts of poverty and you will no doubt be witness to several people trying to beg and ask for money with you when you are in certain areas. Just politely decline and keep walking or driving as they will be drawn to you being a foreigner and expect you to have money. You should also make sure you educate your children properly when travelling with them so that they know what to expect with the poverty situation in India.
  • Bring plenty of cameras and memory sticks so that you can always take a piece of India home with you to remember! It will be a magical journey we can guarantee you that, but you don’t want to leave without having some picture memories to take home right? Even better you could bring a video camera to really capture the moments of your trip and forever live them up when you get home. You also would then get the chance to show them off to your friends which is even better!
